Pardner Turkey
« on: March 27, 2010, 07:12:10 PM »
Stopped by a friends house tonight to chew the fat a while.
He has been out of work over a year now.
Been helping him out when I can in different ways.
He showed me an as new Pardner Turkey gun with the camo wood stocks, matt finish receiver, 24" full, chambered for 3.5" 12ga with factory camo sling.
Serial # NU, 2004.
Gun has been test fired only.
He wanted $200.00 for it.
To help him out I bought it.
Not being up on the shotguns as much as the Handi rifles I was wondering if I paid to much?

From what I've seen lately that's not a bad price. More importantly you helped out a friend and didn't take advantage of his situation.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

The factory turkey hunting camo stocks are worth at least $75- $80 (or more), The reciever is about $45-$50, the special 24" 3.5" chamber Turkey barrel is about $65-$70, and the camo sling is another $15-$20. I think you did fine, AND you helped a friend, and just before Turkey season too!!!...Congratulations on being a good friend to a friend in need, it will come back to you when you least expect it....<><.....:)

I think you did great LT.   I bought mine 6 yrs ago with plain pallet stocks, 24" with an extra full screw in choke.   I paid $150 for mine in 1994.    I love it, matter of fact just harvested my seventh gobbler with it this morning.   The load it likes the most is 2 1/4" oz #6 at 1200 fps.    It will shred anything to 45+ yards.

Thanks!
I was going to get one anyway some time and to be able to help out a friend was all the better.
I guess I need to be more vigilant of the shotgun market from now on.

Don't think that will ever happen.
That was the handle my deceased brother used to use back when CBs were all the rage and we were on the road together.

Besides, I don't recall ever seeing a pic of any of the old Mountain Men carrying a short long-gun!  ;)

Man you over paid for that. ;D ;D (just kidding with you) I only paid like $50 and change for mine. But it was a mess I had to clean up. I think you paid a fair a price. If I was in the market for one I would have paid that in a second. Good luck with and hope you can get you a ole tom turkey with it.
