trying some new loads with my .308 when the groups dropped 4". no adjustments had been made. groups didn't grow. they just dropped down
every day is a gift. use it well

Did the old loads open up as well?
If you are trying new loads they will fly differently than the old loads.
Your rifle may not like the new load for any number of reasons.
Also did you drop the rifle any time?  Does the scope seemed damaged in any way?  Is it still clear?

no this was all new loads. they were right on target, then they suddenly dropped 4". i checked the mounts and rings. tried some more, still low. adjusted the scope up and all was fine. was curious if the reticule could drop from recoil or whatever. older scope but it's one of those bushnell scopechief IV 2.5-8. not that much recoil really
