Old Ruger 44 mag value
« on: April 01, 2010, 01:34:34 PM »
My brother has a old Ruger 44 mag he wants to sell ser #17xx he bought it new in I think 1957 it's in good condition lots of holster wear if anything I would say 70% or less blue.

I want to buy it what kind of $$$ should I tell him.

He also has a flat loading gate 22 ss when I was growing up I'll bet I alone put 10,000 rds thru it how much for it.

Thanks
Remember it's where the first bullet goes out of a cold barrel that counts most.

Here's a early "beater" that's been reblued over the rust pits. I'd still not sell it for a penny
under $500.  An "original" in poor condition is worth more, IMHO.

The Flatgate Single-Sixes were made in 4 variations.  The guns under s/n approx. 2000 carry the highest value.
As with the Flattop, the exact condition weighs heavily on the value.

Good digital images posted here or on the Ruger Forum will certainly help we collectors to discern your guns' values.
