Kimber Rimfire Target

    Have been looking for a light weight and accurate 22LR pistol suitable for trail/SHTF survival (small game gathering). The Kimber 1911 Rimfire Target model seems intriguing to me; especially since I prefer the 1911 .45 for self defense. Anyone have any experience with this firearm's reliability and accuracy?

The one I have seen at our monthly "Steel Challenge" match runs and shoots great as far as I can tell. I have a Ceiner conversion for the 1911 that runs great as well. I just wish it had a last round slide lock feature. I don't know if the Kimber has that feature or not. I have an Advantage Arms conversion on order for my Glocks, back order, that is.

   I've read nothing to indicate whether or not the slide locks open after the last shot on the Kimber; but have read that the Advantage Arms 1911 conversion unit does. I have considered Advantage Arms for my S&W 1911Sc (commander-sized); but prefer to have a handgun purposely designed for great accuracy and to keep my .45 always ready for self-defense. However, if I knew the Advantage Arms unit was very accurate (ie 1&1/2" max at 25 yds w/iron sights), I might convert the S&W and find a new self defense .45.
   Let us know how the Advantage works for ur Glock.....even though it's apples vs oranges.
