Nice Lloyd. I picked one up a couple of years ago too. I haven't even shot it yet...

Very nice 29's, all of them. Had my 5" 29 out today, so accurate. Ringing a steel plate at 25 yards as fast as I could shoot. Good Times!

Wrong. The longest was 10-5/8" with the four position adjustable front sight. Sure wish I still had mine. I hunted with it in several states and won more trophies, plaques and other matches with it than any other single handgun I've ever owned then like a fool sold it. As far as I know he's still shooting it in matches.

The 3 inch should be interesting to shoot. I like the non-fluted cylinder.

Picked up this 1978 model a month or two ago.  Pinned and recessed.  It's not the first I've owned, but lord it sure shows off that granite counter top!

Hello Steve
From what I have Learned in the past the standard run production models known as the Target Champions were first brought out in the model 586-1's and the Model 29's and were offered with 6" & 8-3/8" Barrels. Apparently Later on, S&W offered the Model 29's with the 10-5/8" barrels as I stood to be corrected, but not being up on the Later models with these Longer barrels was something I was simply not aware of. I have wondered myself if these 10-5/8" barrel Model 29's were of standard production line products or something that generated out of the custom shop ? This is why I have learned to live by the Phrase "Never say Never with anthing S&W"...Below is my 6" Model 586-1 that was only offered Two years around 1986 time span and I have not seen another 586-1 in this configuration since...
