Finally, some progress on one of my two 45 70s. I got an approx 1" group at 100 yds using the Hornday 325 LE Ammo. It took the addition of a 3x9x40 Redfield and some other fine tuning to get this group. Now that the gun is acceptable I have to figure out how to duplicate this accuracy with my handloads. I know it isn't going to happen with 500 grain RNFPGC cast lead, the photo I am posting shows the grouping of those bullets @ 100 yds, big triangle below the 12" round target.
Now if I can just remember to tweak the scope up and left so I actually hit the bullseye next time.
