I got mine from the Galyan's in Leewood KS.  I found out about the sale from a web seach on SSI.  They have been on clearance since Oct. so some stores my be sold out.  Dick's had them for $300 which I think is a fair price for the SSI.  Check out altout.com for barrels about $150.  I've never ordered from them so I don't know how reliable they are.  Galyan's also had the 22-250 bull-barrel SSI for $229.

I called the store and was advised the corporate folks will not let sell to anyone outside the state - FFL transfer or not - the young fellow advised they can only send weapons back for repair?  Anyone have any ideas on how to make a 100% legal sale to someone in New Mexico?

Went by Dick's today and they had the SSI on sale for $269.  I don't know why the guns are so expensive at most retailers and on the web.  I think this is going to hurt sales in the long run.  The price range for the SSI is $229 to $450 with barrels running $150-$300 depending where you shop.  If you buy a Handi you know your going to pay around $200 no mater where you go and extra barrels are $100.

No point in getting extra barrels when you can get the whole dang gun for $229. Just buy a whole nother gun----lol.

Took one home last night from Galyan's in .308 ---got to pick mine from 3 or 4 in the box rifles----they said they have a stack of 30 of em in the back room. .223--.243---and .308 available.

At $400---I wouldn't touch one----at $229 it is a great deal that I couldn't pass up---need another rifle like a whole in the head---figured it would be a good truck gun---and if I didn't like it---I could get back pretty much what I paid for it.

If you want a SSi you better do it now as they are out of production.  Barrels can still be had though Mossberg but they are high.
