Site sponsor Oregunsmithing, you'll find GBO sponsors in Links in the big green menu bar above.  ;)

Whoa...wait a minute....I gotta read this.

I guess shipping is the smallest of these issues.  You want gun smithing done to it.  You'd better get ready to pay for it.  The shipping won't amount to zilch compared to the work you want done.  Wayne York at Oregunsmithing will do a superb job, but ya better keep yer wallet handy.  He gets a day's pay for a day's work.  As is expected.

I expect to pay for quality work, I may bite the bullet and send it back to them, but darn it, it is their mistake and I have to pay for it?

Did you ask them to cover return shipping to get it fixed? They don't need to cut the barrel, they'll replace it. They cover return shipping all the time, Land_Owner just talked to them today to get his 357Mag repaired and they're sending him a prepaid UPS label like they always do when asked.

I talked to some guy named Andrew and he flat refused to send a shipping label. Guess I shoulda asked for his boss, but I didn't. I hate having to argue with people about stuff when Im not working, I get paid to argue at work.

You didn't by chance ask them to shorten the barrel too, did ya? That would prompt a negative reaction from them, they won't do custom work, only as factory issued. I'd give em another call and explain what's wrong and ask them to send a return shipping label to get it fixed, they do it all the time.

I tried to explain the problem and asked that it be fixed.

I appreciate the replies. Im gonna either call them or send them a letter asking for it to be fixed.

Yeah.....troublesome and aggravating, but you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so keep calling until someone gives you satisfaction, then you win.

Ive had only a few problems, none with guns but with stocks/accessories.
Both times I explained that it was their mistake, and I EXPECT them to send me the return label.
Politely I may add.
Both times I got the label, and it worked out fine.
If the origional barrel is bad, ie a bad dovetail, they should fix it, and I would hope they pay shipping, but Ive had to send in guns for repair to other companies and they refused to pay return shipping for warranty work, I dont buy from them anymore.

Good luck
Dave
