Double D
Just saw this post of your 375 2.5, they are a great shooting round and easy to reload. Mine is in a Steyr 1893 action by Cogswell & Harrison.  Need to ask about the WR #2 round pictured, is that the 450#2 Musket? If it is do you have another I could get for my collection?  I have a I Hollis single shot on the Fields action in 450 #2 Musket I've been shooting for years but have yet to find an original round. Thanks.

50 Calshtr,

Well I thought it was a 450 Musket No.2.  The head stamp is marked Kynoch No. 2 Musket.   But I'm begining to wonder if they are the same.

I contacted Kynoch an bought a print so I could have a reamer made for an I. Hollis Martini in Westley Richards No. 2 Musket I am restoring.

Last night I was comparing that cartiridge with the drawing and talking with a fellow via email in Belgium.  His cartridge is like mine.

Later today I will make a separate post about this cartridge and  post the drawings.

I got mine from a cartridge collector. If you are looking for a cartridge try the links we have over on the Cartridge collecting forum.

Double D,
I believe that's correct, it's the 450 #2.  I think I've got the dimensions of my rifle's chamber squirreled away somewhere if you want them, may be Monday before I can get them to you.  I think RCBS now makes dies and Bertram may have cases so once you get set up it should be easy as the bore is .458. I load mine to match the original ballistics so my sights line up, I can get you those loads on Monday also.  Back when I got my rifle I had to make my own dies and cases, a real chore but worth it for the rifle which I got cheap because no one else could feed it. The reamers I made for my dies were turned out of drill stock and I cut the flutes with a Dremal tool, they're rude & crude but they worked. Cases can be made from 500 NE if you build up the rim thickness or 50 Sharps if you build up the base dia, thin and reduce the rim dia. Haven't seen any of the Bertrams so I don't know how they are doing them, may be from 475 #2 NE which I think also has the right base and rim but is quite expensive per case.  Have fun, it's a neat old caliber once you get it going.
