Any pigs near Branson MO?
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:33:50 PM »
Going to Branson over Memorial day weekend to visit the Fiance's family.  Any chance a guy might slip in a day or night hunt?  Not really looking for any thing fancy just a few hours of hunting.  If pigs aren't possible I'll throw in a fishing pole.

Thanks!

Don't really know what part of the state Branson is in but there are at least three game farms/exotics ranches in MO. All three have pretty good reputations.

High Adventure Ranch, Show-Me Safaris and danged if I can recall the third.

You can likely Google all of them up with something like: Hogs and exotics in Missouri or just google those two names and you'll likely find them. I don't have URLs for them at this time.

I seriously doubt you will do any good pig hunting around Branson.  There are pigs there, but very few and far between.  Better off bringing the fishing pole.  Lake Tannycomo has some world class trout fishing.  If you want to go the game farm route, High Adventure has plenty of pigs.  Show Me Safaris unfortunately has gone out of business. Be prepared for wall to wall traffic in Branson Memorial day weekend.

:) Howdy! 35 miles South of Branson, near Alpena, Arkansas is Wranglerup Outfitters. They have hog hunting. Google for their website. Always, Gene

Thanks guys, I'll probably stick to fishing.  I did contact Wrangler-up but haven't found any real good info on the place.  Found both good and bad reviews but nothing real recent.  The rest of the places wanted more money than I'm willing to shell out for a day hunt.  I was just hoping there would be something close by since I usually hunt much better than I fish.

Actually there are. You just need to know where to go. The place? The Drury side of the Drury-Mincy Wildlife area on J Hwy about 20 minutes oustside Branson. They are having a real problem with them and are even in the process of trapping as many as they can. They welcome any help getting rid of them. Have this info from one of the Rangers there. Only thing is, it's archery hunting only. It is an absolutely beautiful area bordered by Bull Shoals Lake.
