Exclusively pistol up to this point, but I am in the middle of a transaction for a stainless frame and composite buttstock and rifle forend.  I plan on using that platform for rifle/carbine and keep my blued frames configured for pistol, but you know what happens to best laid plans.  ::)  I don't know yet what caliber I'll start with.  Probably .22rf but it depends more on what "good deal" comes along in a stainless barrel.  I'm not too choosy, I like 'em all.

It "only" took 23 years for the rifle bug to bite.  ;D

On my Contenders... for the first 25 or so years pistol barrels by a very large margin, and during the last almost dozen and a half years the carbine barrels made a noticable effort to catch up.

On my Encores (before I got back out of them) pistol only.

Naturally all my TCR's were rifle.

Hey Chris,
That short "pencil" carbine barrel on the top in your picture..... ever draw any Cervidae blood with it yet?

Larry,

Not yet. Heck I can't even draw a deer tag, let alone deer blood...

I'll have it at the range again tomorrow though, going to try some of those Hornady ssp's they used to make in 80 grs. I still don't have a fore end to fit it properly. I'm going to use my big over sized Georgia Jim fore end and hanger bar tomorrow. it looks ridiculous, but it'll sure "float" the barrel off the fore end. I wonder if I sent it off to BB if they'd make a fore end for me?

Hmmm, may have to look into that.

Chris,
I'd bet any of the custom wood shops would make one to fit it.   I just used a Pachy forend with a hanger bar on it, and it looked fine.   But then I had a folding Choate buttstock on the frame for it too and a compact sniper scope to make the whole rig super compact.

Yeah, I remember you telling me about it. Funny thing, I traded away my folding stock, and gave away my pachy fore end. The hanger bar on my pachy wouldn't line up to the screw holes on the barrel anyway. The hanger bar on my Georgia Jim set lines up though, the holes in the bar are slotted. I have to use a couple of washers under the front end to compensate for the taper of the barrel though. I think I'd like a nice slim wood fore end and hanger bar on it. Plus I'd like a high comb buttstock to use with a scope. I'd prefer walnut, and I don't really see anyone but BB having those kinds of stocks available. I can't stand thumbhole stocks, they've never felt anything but "wrong" to me.

I have 4 rifle barrels and 14 pistol barrels. If i want to use them as such, 4 of the Encore pistol barrels are legal length to be used as a rifle barrel.

Well for me and my son I have 2 Encores set up with 50 cal ML and 25-06 barrels. I just acquired a G2 contender with a 14" 30-30 and so far I am loving it. Wouldn't mind getting a 22 barrel for it at some point pretty soon.

Would be easier to answer which one do you WANT more of?? BOTH
Thanks,
