Okay ...from firebrand infowars site......Texas CPS seize child because parents don't trust the government; and ring up marijuana and other charges, too.....according to:

seems to me they may have been right.   they seem to be well spoken and reasonably intelligent people.

According to the link you posted, the father was already not liked by authorities. CPS is the least regulated, therefore the most often abused, and no one questions anything done "for the children." It would not shock me to learn that in the absence of any legitimate probable cause, CPS was unleashed with an anonymous tip. By the time the dust settles, and a Judge hears the case and perhaps even drops it, the family will have been traumatized, and accrue significant legal debt which can't be paid with an "Oops, my bad."

I had a run in with CPS a grand child was stolen by them.
My wife called a friend who was at the time a very high ranking state elected official.
The matter was taken care of and the child was released in my custody.
The woman from CPS and the OKC police officer told me you are just real lucky that you know people.
I said "No you are lucky my wife knows people.
I have no use for CPS they are nothing but white slavers and should be treated as such.

I've PERSONALLY seen CPS come into folks homes, and make some outrageous claims and take the kids out, only to have to return them when the case was cleared up. On one in particular an accusation was made against a relative, and I found the proof on the case that the little girl had made the story up. When I approached the CPS agent she said not to worry about it, they weren't gonna file charges on the guy. I inquired about the man's reputation and his family, and she just blew it off.
I watched those clowns screw thing up in families for 20 years and have never had any use for them.

Dee. I agree. I know of a family that had a 15 yr old boy pulled out of their home and sent to a youth detention center against a family court judge's orders. All it took was for me to loan them my lawyer( on retainer) to go to court with the family. The youth will be released in a week. In a letter from him, he said they were trying to have him say he wanted to go to a foster home. arrogant power mad cps.

CPS is a good idea ruined by folks who don't know what they are doing and don't care as long as they are doing something.
How in the world did we grow up without CPS?

Before I left L.E., all you had to have to be a cps field officer was a degree. It didn't really specify what the degree was in, just a degree. I remember the days when older police officers with a good education, and street smarts held the jobs called "juvenile officer". Common sense was usually the order of the day, and L.E. home invasion was almost unheard of.  It wasn't a perfect system then, but it was a far cry better than todays "CPS".
