Matt is still playing with the colors. There is a thread on the NEF/H&R Centerfire Rifle forum with lots of discussion and that's where to tell Matt your likes or dislikes about what it looks like at any given moment. He's already made several changes since the thread was started.

If ya don't like the way it looks at this moment ya gotta tell him but understand he's not looking at every forum on the site. The NEF centerfire rifle forum or pot bellied stove forum will get the most attention if you have comments.

Still tweaking and will be for the next few days....

Please give your input on it as that is the only way I will know what needs to be changed at this point.... also please report any bugs that you might run up on...

Matt,
I saw your name at the top, hope I catch you. I like the new colors, except for the review when posting, it's dark print on dark backround, and is hard to read.

Well the area where we post is ok with the two tone on every other post,
and seeing who is on is nice, but the
neon green background is may be a
little rough on the eyes........

Now it's looking good now , real good .

Those first few minutes were kind of an easter egg appocolipes , like those greens and violets kind of incandcent reds , blues and lavenders in a Hydro busrt .

But now it is good . ;)

Would be nice if the banner were smaller, but I think the colors are an improvement.

Not certain what you are referring to here. I suspect you don't really mean banners which are where our advertising dollars come from and are fixed in size by contract. I suspect you mean the new photo header with our site logo on it.

It too is fixed in size but not by contract just by what is on it. If like most you scroll on down from it rather quickly I guess I don't see why size of it matters.

its almost impossible to read the "go up" below the last post
and the names on the people online as they are in many different colors some is invisible
with the post names in blue its more difficult to see the "new" sign as its the same color ,
would be easier if it was in read for example

thats what I can think of now

Sorry, I did mean the header.  I'm aware it's fixed in size, since it's an image, though images can be scaled.  When the page loads all I see is it and 2 or 3 different banner ads.  Yes, I can scroll down quickly, and I do.  It's a minor complaint, but the header is the wrong size for the contraints put on it anyway (which is why it tiles a little at the end of it), so it needs some tweaking, and since reactions to the changes were requested, that's one of mine.  BTW, I really like the look of it, just not the size.

The only other thing that bothered me about the changes was the red font on clicked links, which other people have mentioned, and Matt already changed.

I like the more muted color pallet of the current update better than the previous one, too!

I think the colors are fine.
I do have a problem with copying pictures. Most of them come through with the name "standard". If there are two or more that I want to copy to my desktop for better viewing I have to rename each one or else my computer wants to know if I want to remove and replace the previously copied picture.
Is there some way to change the photo labeling set up so that it replaces the name "standard" with a unique identifying number?
It is a bother to have to name each picture particularly if I am going to delete it a few minutes later.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

In most cases standard references the default size from the photo hosting sight, not the GBO software.

For example

http://www.fototime.com/175FA3F8AC4C1A5/standard.jpg  640 x 427 pixels

gives you:

http://www.fototime.com/175FA3F8AC4C1A5/orig.jpg   810 x 540 pixel

gives you:

Which are both resized automatically by the GBO soft ware to 500 x 333 pixel

and http://www.fototime.com/175FA3F8AC4C1A5/medium.jpp  100 x 100 pixels

Gives you:

Which is supposed be a clickable link but has never worked.

Standard, Orig, and Medium are all generated by my photo host.  The only part of the photo code generated by the GBO software is the resize code that looks like this. [img width=500 height=333]

When you copy a picture to look at it closer, use SAVE AS...as and give it a short reference  name.

For example.  Right click on picture>SAVE AS>DDGB01>SAVE  You need to change the location to Desktop if your default location is not your Desktop, or change to what ever SAVE location you wish to use.

Your supposed-to-be-clickable-link above has some formatting issues (http://www."http.com//www.fototime.com/pictinv/175FA3F8AC4C1A5").  That is what it looks like; a bad front end and the quotation marks.  Can't help you regarding where that garbage is coming from.

Getting rid of the garbage (going with http://www.fototime.com/pictinv/175FA3F8AC4C1A5) puts me at a fototime guest login page.

Thanks George, now i remember.  I changed my security settings so that folks couldn't get into my sight without an invitation...found a guy was using one of my pictures on his commercial website without accreditation.  I meant to bring that up with fototime.com.
