SMOLENSK, Russia - Polish President Lech Kaczynski and some of the country's highest military and civilian leaders died when the presidential plane crashed as it came in for a landing in thick fog in western Russia on Saturday, killing 96, officials said.

TM7, fortunately "Russia" is investigating the scene of the "accident" for us; pilot "ignored fog risk warnings." So no mechanical failure evidently. I wonder what this will mean for Russia Poland.

Definitely a great loss and our prayers go out to their families.

I thought it odd that they were all on the same plane, and that they crashed in of all places, Russia. Is the fix for Poland in? AGAIN? Hmmmmmm

Is there some significance to the "Christian and conservative" remark?  I fail to see the significance.  The Polish leadership was decimated.  It doesn't seem to be anything to do with Christianity, conservatism, liberalism, or anything else.

hmm, a bunch of important Poles on a Russian built aircraft, flying to Russia to pay respect to Poles killed by the Russians who by the way blamed the Germans for that for a long time , crashed just before touchdown. .......

 I'm pretty sure that the Russian investigation finds absolutely nothing wrong with the airplane or anything incriminating on the voice recorders.
