Westboro Baptist Church coming to town
« on: April 10, 2010, 04:22:46 PM »

I heard on the radio that some of the people from the Westboro Baptist church will be going to Tampa, Fl to protest outside Plant High school. It sure would be nice to arrange a welcoming committee for them.

I heard they were in WV where the coal miners were killed. One of them was in a country store passing out fliers that said "Why God Killed 25 WV miners." He handed a flyer to a miner that was on his way to work and the miner knocked him out cold. The miner stayed around until the state police got there and just held his hands out to be cuffed. The state policeman told the miner to just go ahead and go to work and he would take car of things.

A year or so they said they would be in Eastern KY to protest a soldier killed in battle. They never showed. There were several welcoming committees waiting on them. I doubt they would have made it out alive. I look forward to the day that cult is broken up for good. Those people are pure scum, Not a Christian among them. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

i never heard of it..are they sayin the miners died because they were sinners ..
they need get a clue..not one of us humans are sinless..not one of us that christ didn t die
to atone for them ..only one way to the father an that through the son ..
does this country as a whole need to turn itself around ..yes.. but the only way, is not through our own strength an goodness..but through the guidance of the comforter,,it is possible..
were it not so the savior
would not have proclaimed it to his deciples ,in those last days he was here on earth ,,waiting for that great day when he would give his life ,that all might be saved ,by his grace,an atonement....slim
ps. pretty insensitive bunch .. at least it sounds like it to me..but i really know little ofem,so i ll hold
back from judging them.. only one judge that really matters an the jobs taken ,i believe..

Slim, They are the "God Hates Fags" bunch. They come to the memorial services for my Marines and hold up signs saying my Marines were killed because God is judging America for condoning homosexuality. Fortunately, there is usually a reception committee for them, usually a local veteran's motorcycle club who establish a perimeter so the family can grieve without distraction. WBC are similar to those who pitched blood on our veterans returning from Vietnam and called them babykillers, but they add further insult to injury by claiming they serve God ... whitewashed tombs, brood of vipers. "Lord, Lord look what we've done in your name!" they'll cry. What's sad is they raise their kids up to hold some of the foulest signs you've ever seen.

Paul seemed okay with exhorting the brethren; love them, as hard it is, pray for them, through gritted teeth if need be, but if we call them brother, we have to exhort them to stop. I know nothing of them except this activity, and I gave up once looking through their website trying to find anything pure, noble, lovely, just or true. If they are Christians, only God knows, but if I had to go by fruit, I'd be skeptical.

* Just looked at their website again in nearly a decade. Now they claim God Hates Fag Enablers. And they have a ticker on the page that counts on the number of reprobates that have split hell wide open since the page was opened. No doubt where their heart is. They also claim God hates the USA, Obama is the Anti-Christ, and Jews Killed Jesus. Hmm.

I am very thankful to the Jews for killing Jesus, how else would our sins been atoned for? Wasn't that God's plan from the start, to send his only son to die as the payment for our sins.

I am a native Kansan, my Father's people left Europe and came to Kansas in 1872. We have lived and died been born and buried here ever since. And I gotta tell ya that Westboro bunch is an absolute shame. A blackeye to every thing that decent people hold dear. It is a sad fact that the constution protects free speech; it says nothing about smart speech, or decent speech or even true speech. I just hope and pray that the rest of the country is aware that they are just a tiny, yet rude, hateful group that in NO WAY is representative of the good people that make up the population of the Great State of Kansas. To any one that that group has offended in a time of hurt and loss I extend my heartfelt personal apologies.

To expand and get more technical on the villain involved in Christ's crucifixion, The Jewish Sanhedrin condemned him to death, as he was eroding the Pharisees and Sadducee's power, and authority. He was not affecting Roman life that much, but the Sanhedrin could not under Roman law actually carry out the sentence. When Pontius Pilate tried to escape the duty by offering Barabbas, they threatened him with complaint to the Cesar, which would cause him (Pilot) problems. SO! The Jew and the Gentile alike actually killed Christ in combined collaboration, but the Jew was the instigator.

Yes, I am familiar with the events leading up to the crucifixion, but my point was that many people who claim to be Christians also act like they are mad that Christ died.  They seem to forget that dieing for our sins was the ONLY reason that Christ came to earth. It is not uncommon, even Peter got upset when he realized what was going to happen. No one took Christ's life form him he willingly laid it down (John 10:17-18). To say that it was someone, or group of peoples fault is off base, it was God's plan, set forth when man first sinned in the garden, that is why Christ is referred to as the Lamb slayed from the foundation of the world. (Rev 13:8 ) As soon as there was a problem that separated God from His creation He had a plan to fix it. The Jews simply carried out God's will. Christ forgave them on the cross (Luke 23:34), and so should we (Mark 11:25-26).
Sorry for getting off topic, it just frustrates me to see people, like this WBC bunch, spewing hate and saying they are doing it in God's name.

The one thing I have learned is that everyone thinks they have the answers and everyone else is wrong. In many ways I find myself at times guilty of the same thing. It is a daily exercise of self examination.

BKRAFT. You owe nobody an appology friend. You have done no wrong concerning this group. They are an embarassment to the entire Christian world. They are as much Christian as osama and his church. Charlie.  :o :o

Powderman thank you for the kind words and I realize that they are what they are, but I am angry that they do what they do. Sometimes I have just got to say ENOUGH. I, like many others on here have kin in Kandahar and other sandtraps throughout the world protecting the Phelps right to protest funerals and when I hear that they are taking aim at miners and minors it goes beyond "tickin me off" it goes to bone deep "bad place" anger. But, enough about them. Thanks again! Have great week ;D

I can't see myself voting guilty if on a jury for someone who harmed or killed one of these scumbags. Several years ago when my friends son was killed in Iraq they didn't show up. That would have been the wrong family to mess with.

Maybe you have seen it. It is The Risen Lord holding up a man that cannot stand on his own. In his one hand is a hammer and in the other a large nail. That man is me. Jesus suffered and died because of my sin as surely as if I had beaten Him and nailed Him to that cross myself. And yet He forgives me and holds me up. Many people curse the Jews for killing Jesus and do not take into account their own sin. If WBC had been there they would probably have been yelling, "CRUCIFY HIM".

You are absolutely right about everything you said here. They make me ashamed to tell people that I am from Kansas. In fact a lot of the time I will claim Maine over Kansas because that is where I lived last. They have been a pain in our butts for longer than most people know. It wasn't until a few years ago that they started branching outside of Kansas. They used to just stay inside the state. But now they are becoming america's problem not just ours. And if I were to die overseas and they picket my funeral I want my last dying wish to be that Fred Phelps or some of his spawn catch a bullet for all americans.

I can appreciate someone having a passion.
Just not a passion for something like this.
I don't know how anyone can be that blind.
It's like biting the hand that feeds you.
These soldiers died so you can have these rights.
Now you're gonna turn it around and picket them.

I don't get it. Makes me both sad and angry.

I do understand your pain, disgust and anger. However be careful what you wish away from your Constitution. There are enough forces out there that have been and are very busy  now doing that. :(

See, that is what got me upset and still does in the first place.
That whole thing was set up like this in the beginning,  the design made to fail, then the fix came in to be completed in some unknown time span with misery of gigantic proportions continueing............. WHY !! To proof what.??

BBF, after I wrote that about it being a "sad fact" I realized just how badly I had mis-spoken. What I intended say was that freedom of speech is a double edged sword, one that I am quite content to live with. It's just too bad  people abuse the right. However I am happy they have the right.
