fell asleep last year turkey hunting, awoke with a hen standing about 20 yrds away.  thought to myself, cool,  then she turned and showed me her 8 inch beard.  she is a legal bird in indiana having a beard.  i was so excited seeing her i couldnt even have tried to get a shot, but was neat to see.

More very nice videos Duk!  Question, Are those fighting turkeys younger?  Reason I ask is that I see chickens doing that sort of stuff all the time when they are young. Its a way of establishing a pecking order for the chickens. Is it that way for the turkeys?

I have not noticed that fighting turkeys are necessarily younger.  Sometimes you can tell by looking when a tom is a dominate fighter, but many times it's classic group think.  Two or three toms will almost always want to attack a single bird.  Safety in numbers I guess.  The one dead in the videos above was off from the group when I stuck him and he was a 3 year old bird.
