I gut shot one with my 4" 44 mag early, early thisspring. she twitched real good, stopped, nawed at the exit wumd, and then lit the after burner.I shot the heart out of a small bitch coyote from about forty yards, running with a hornady xtp. bullet went strraight thru, not much sign of expansion, but i shot her low in the chest, and she was small. She wobbled, stumblwed, and dragged herself another fifty yards. Gut shot one was a Lyman Devastaor at aprox 1200 feet pers econd. apparently not enough meat to cause full expansion.
No pistol bullet is made for tarts that small and thin. Hit them in the chest, or better, break the spine, and you will anchor them. anywhere else, you will probably lose them.
