Do I have left handed grips?
« on: April 11, 2010, 10:11:31 PM »
I have an old High Standard 22 that when I point at a target and hold it still and then look to see how the sights are pointed always is pointed off to the left. When I do the same thing with my left hand the gun is pointed right on when I look through the sights. There is a swell on the right side grip that my trigger finger lays across that is causing this I'm pretty sure, it is kind of like a thumb rest but not that pronounced. I didn't know that you could get grips that specialized for simple 22's. It may be homemade custom work, but if so it is well done. The grips appear to be plastic or bakelite.

I suppose if I ever want this gun to point right I will need to grind this swell off the right side or buy another set of grips. Any southpaws out there who would like to trade? Can you buy grips for High Standards, this is one of their earliest models.
