270 ulra comp still on gunbroker!!!

There is a 270 ulra comp on gunbroker that has been ther for more than a month.  I thought this was a good handi, whats up?

Nice rifle..don't know about the Vortex scope..looks like those are $399.00 new so if you gave them full price on the scope..the rifle would only be $140...which is a very good deal..IMHO

Last Ultra Comp I saw on there was a 30-06 with a Bushnell Scope.  It went for $350.00 with scope.  A used Ultra Comp, No scope, I think that is a little high.  Just my opinion, and apparently others think so too since there is no bids on it at that price.  Rog

Especially since the price of guns seems to be going down for the last three months.

If they were 30-06 I'd be bidding.  Don't need or want a .270.

Don't know anything about that scope, but if the scope is clear the magnification is good for longer ranges.  It's a 4X16X50, and I use a 3.5X15X50 Night Force on my Weatherby for 800 yard shots.

I would guess that with the change of hands @ H&R in the last decade or so, that records of certain models being manufactured, specifically the number quantity ranges has long been lost. Have any of you ever heard of or seen the actual number of Ultra Comps (.270 & 30-06) manufactured in the limited number of years of their existance?

Last time I spoke with Gordon at NEF about them they were clearing out a cache they had found of each..I believe the production number of about 500-750 for both runs in the 270 and 30-06 came up..He wasn't positive..but that's as good of a guess as any..

I had one. IMO, while they're a good-looking gun, the comp is an unnecessary combination of noise maker and muzzle blast on the .270 which doesn't kick that much to begin with. The 30-06 would seem more desirable.
