Ruger 41 Magnum flattop
« on: April 13, 2010, 08:26:34 AM »
Anyone know about this?

Never saw it on Ruger's site.  Hope it comes in a longer barrel and includes a reverse indexing pawl.  I was just getting ready to build up a standard 41 Blackhawk for myself using Power Custom options, and then found this listed:

This is the new exclusive Blackhawk 41 Mag 4 5/8" Barrel. These just came out and are NIB.

It's a Williams' Shooting Sports exclusive I believe.  They had the previous .41 flattop a few months ago as well.

Are the cylinders the same size and length as the standard Blackhawk in 41 mag?

It looks like the 357-sized frame of the flattops (ala 357 mag and 44 special flattop that came out recently).   Not totally sure, just looking at the pic though... ???

The 7 1/2" .41's flattops were on the lg flattop frame like the 50th Ann .44's.  Gotta believe these are as well - the serial number prefix would indicate this.

Hmm if it has the full length cylinder like my Bisley I might really NEED one of these. I really like the looks of the 4 5/8 barrel and I don't have a black hawk style 41.

I'd like the full size cylinder since I use quite a few of the 265 LFN loads and I don't want one gun that requires shorter ammo.

That's a drawback of Freedom's 93 in 41 - and I just can't afford one anyway.
