I noticed over in the classifieds section that an item for sale makes mention of this and while I think I can understand the reasoning behind this and do not question GBOs authority on this matter I am curious as to how one knows which sights or words are not to be used on GBO?
How am I to know which are banned and which are not?

All you have to do it preview your posts/replies before submitting them and you'll see any censored words/banned sites.

I was wondering about this myself. How are we as readers supposed to know which site the person posting is talking about? Can we send a personal message to the original poster to find out or will we get the same "banned site" back in the reply?

The word censor works in private messages too, attempting to discuss banned sites in forums will get the poster banned, so it's best not to go there, the sites are banned for a reason.

Oops! I may have mentioned a banned site when I first joined, caues later as I was reading all the posts, I noted the mentioned site was different, so I changed it. The post was so old however, it must a slipped through that time. Anyhow, I'm glad I didn't get banned for showing my ignorance.

I mentioned a site once that was banned and it was because Bill felt they did unsafe mods to firearms or were ripping people off. He's never been one to ban other forums for no reason. If it's banned there is a reason for it.

I believe the one who would get themselves banned for mentioning the banned sites or banned people are those that continue to try and post of them normally new folks don't know or understand. I know when I first joined yrs ago I was involved with Encores then and kept trying to get information on a certain banned fellow it got me banned...well that and my smart mouth anyways. I recieved some emails and some well intentioned advice (thanks Andy) I contacted GB and after some understanding from him and some apoligizing from me now ya know the rest of the story. Thanks for the great site GB!! Kurt
