Barnes triple shock

Anybody tried reloading these for a 30-30 contender? Is there enough velocity in a 14" barrel?
Thanks,

Barnes copper bullets are longer than bullets of the same weight made of lead with a copper jacket.  Since they're longer they either need a faster twist or more velocity (especially faster twist) than shorter bullets.  I doubt you'll get satisfactory velocity to stabilize them with a short barrel at Contender approved pressures.  If you try them, definitely go for the lighter ones.

I have thought about trying the 110 or 130gr Barnes in my 30/30 but wondered about expansion.

Take a look at the Nosler 150 gr E-Tip. They will expand and penetrate almost into tomorrow.
