How Bout a 356 Winchester?
« on: April 16, 2010, 04:13:32 PM »
I know the Maximum has been a conversion as well as the
35 Remington. What about the 356 Winchester from a re
chamber of a 357 Magnum barrel?

Would the rate of twist be too slow for it? Or the pressure
too high?

On an SB2 frame it would be fine, not on an SB1 tho. The 1:15½" twist 357 barrels would work great, a 1:18¾" twist, if they exist, may not be so good with big spitzers. I've shot 250gr spitzers in my 35 Whelen which is 1:16", it works fine out to 100yds anyway, under 1" groups.
