Any one build either a 338 X 57 Ackley Improved or 8mm AI?

I am thinking of building a 338 X 57 Ackley Improved or 8mm AI in an Yugo 48 bolt gun does anyone have an experience with either?

Sorry no not personally but there is a gunsmith in Texas who has developed a .338 MAI (Dave Kiff of Pacific Tool & Gauge (White City Oregon, by the way makes the reamers for it) The information is on another site/forum but it you wish to tread it it's here:-

You will see that the fellers built two different rifles, different barrel lengths and throated for different weight bullets, if you want to know more I am certain that LLanojohn (the gunsmith on there) would oblige with more information.

Not yet, but I've always liked the idea of a 338x57. I don't know if AI will do any good. The last that I knew, was that, if there was a gain to AI an 8x57, it wasn't really worth the trouble.

No real trouble if you are a hand loader.  The brass life is extended in my experience.
