The White House is also eager to show the rest of the world the United States is ready to take a leadership role on global warming, including to help kick-start stalled international efforts to tackle the problem.

And you prolly thought climate change was done!!  ::)

What I want to know is if this is a "Global" problem why would NOT want the US to have the manufacturing jobs?  Our technoligy and work force would be much better suited to produce a cleaner product than some third world plant that does not care about the ecology or the enviroment.  Why should the government get involved in what and how much is produced?
After all we now have dolphin safe tuna in cans because of market forces not because of laws treaties, or regulations.
Look at the Old Soviet union and all the polution it created in trying to make products.
look at the oil wels in Southern CA, OKlahoma, or alaska and then look at the middle east.  Who is poluting?  how much fuel is used in bringing the fuels from the Middle east or Venezula to the US as opposed to drilling and using the opil we have here.
If the Global warming argument were about facts then the Congress would be demanding that products be made here to SAVE THE PLANET and not exporting jobs, capital, and tax bases to some third world crud hole that treats it's people like slaves.
After all if the US can make a Do Hickey for 1 oz of waste and the third world can make it for 5 oz of waste we wouold want it made here to save the Planet.  Instead this is a bunch of American haters wanting to weaken the US and make it into one of the third world crud holes like the rest of the world.
Shouldn't we start a campaign "Save the Planet - Buy American Made."

True OS. Then after all the providers have no money left, because our government taxed them broke. Then big brother can step in and supply us with all our needs to live. Won't it be a great utopia? Of coarse we won't have many rights left, along with no money. Thats why we got-a stick to our guns, literally.

MC, you hit the nail on the head. It isn't about global warming or saving the planet. Its about making us equal to the crud holes. We just have to get the other half the people in this country to understand that. That will be about impossible!

What I would like to see is the Tea Party or the Republican party produce 30 Second Professor commercials.
And teach quick things on the TV as a commercial.
Hit hard and fast ideas of conservitism.  Leave out the squishy social stuff and head for the hard and fast rules and explain how they can save the country and the world by thinking not feeling.

"Votes for Democrats kill people"  And explain how different Leftist policies Polute, create safety hazards, and other ideas.

And 90% of thinking people realize that global warming is a natural occurrence that is tied to cyclical changes.  There have been plenty of global warming cycles (and global cooling cycles), most of which occurred before man was even here.  Oh well, the other 10% believe in Al Gore and the tooth fairy.

I do believe global warming is cyclical, But I also believe the human footprint does contribute. To what extent is debatable. However,  if we have an opportunity to lessen our contribution to that footprint , create jobs and develop alternative and possibly more clean energy sources to lessen or  off set our  dependency on foreign oil, Why not go for it?. I never saw the harm in helping contribute to a healthier planet. Omitting all the political garbage surrounding global warming, just seems to make sense to me no matter whether it global warming that's the catalyst  or not to jump start mans investment into alternative energy R&D all the while maintaining better stewardship of our planet and natural resources.

Maybe someone can figure out how to convert all that used Styrofoam into an energy source rather than have it end up in our landfills ...who knows.

But, exactly how does increased taxes accomplish this?  BTW, all of this is presently happening, and again without the leftist tax and squelch agenda required.

There is no global warming; this dang planet is still evolving for goodness sdake.  what the hell are a bunch of dumbass politicians gonna do, write up some law that tells mother nature she can't make volcanoes erupt any more.  Look at Iceland for goodness sake, and Ohau (Kiluawa ?) and Equador.  What are those idiots going to do, write a law about volcanoes.

All this global warming nonsense only makes it easier for commies like obama and company to ram more stupid laws down our throats.  These idiots are going to start a internal conflict long before they are done trying to trash this country.

If you are going to talk global warming then why don't we fine Iceland for polluting most of eastern Europe.  The natural evolution of this planet, which continues through this day, is or should be considered a 'Act of God', and what the hay are those idjits gonna try and do, slap him with a lawsuit???   Leave it to a muzzi or a commie - what the hay, does anyone think allah could do it better?????

Look, we have got to vote every single stupid incumbent out of office at the next election.  If we can't get those idiots out, so that the next batch of political representatives get the message that they are in for the short term of public service, not a career opportunity, we are going to have to go through all of this all over again.  jmtcw.

Hey, I hate cold weather, so I've been hoping all along that global warming is real.  The problem is that it ain't getting any warmer and I don't need Algore to tell me what I can feel for myself.

Does the climate change from time to time?  Yup, and there ain't one danged thing that man can do to stop it.  We might be able to put a damper on pollution when and where it makes economic and healthy sense, but there's got to be a balance.  As I often say, there's a difference between scratching your butt and tearing a hole in it.

If adding an additional tax to gasoline were the answer, my state (Washington) would have long since solved all the problems imaginable.

You need to hang out with better people.  Aboout 30% of the people I know believe in Man Made Global Warming, about 20% are on the fence and the rest see it for the conspericy it is.
If you say something enough times people are going to believe it.  And the bigger the lie the more people will believe it. The Left is taking a their plays right from the Nazi play book.

The last actual science practiced in climatology demonstrated that man made emissions are a fraction of a percent of pollution. Come join us in Oahu and breathe in some nice VOG straight from mother nature. How many cubic tons were spewed in Iceland? It takes more faith to believe in manmade climate change than it does the tooth fairy. But in the name if that religion you will enslave 300 million members of what used to be the greatest nation on earth. Tell me how that's for the children? I think the hemp emissions are fogging some judgment.

If all the lefties really believed in man-caused emissions as the prime reason for climate change, they would do their part and stop emitting carbon dioxide.  The fact that they haven't done that makes them hypocrites.

Hey, there's a dude on TV right now claiming that the glaciers in the western mountains are receeding and that proves we are having global warming.  Someone should tell these dufuss dipwads that the glaciers have been melting ever since the last Ice Age.  They also build from time to time and then melt again.  If they really want to return to an Ice Age, then let them go somewhere else.

History didn't just begin in the last couple of decades and if these believers would just talk to some of us who have been around long enough to see the climate fluctuate, maybe they'd learn something--not.  Yeah, I know they are talking about big climate changes and not minor periodic changes.  Well, so far, they can't show any major change and lets hope that mother nature doesn't provide them with one.

You are right it is about science.
Man Made Global Warming is Science Fiction.
There were climate changes before man and there will be climate changes as long as the earth revolves around the sun.
Heck there have even been polar shifts where the North and South poles have flopped.
The global warming trend these morons like Gore refer to happened by solar activity.  The sun has hotter, average, and colder years and to rule out the sun in the global warming equasion is like saying how full the tank is has no berring on how far the car can drive.  Pure nonsense.
Or is that a conspericy too?
And Yes I said Commie.  Why is it that Earth Day was started on the 100th anniversary of Lennin Birth?  Yea that communist leader Lennin.
