Depends on what you want to do with it, I'd start in the FAQs and refine your question, there's already a lot of info on sights there.

Check out the catalog for Buffalo Arms online. They have lots of stuff to help you zero in on what you might have in mind.

On that note;
 Will/does the factory peep have enough elevation room on the ramp to find center at say, 400 yrds?
Granted a feller would have to file the front or at least install a low front blade.

Not sure my eyes and a peep will get along.  I can use open sights for 100 yards or so but that is it.  Maybe bought a gun that is best suited for younger eyes than mine?  Will see if the Williams sights I have will work and then go from there.

Peeps are fine for old eyes, open sights are for the younger eyes, I can shoot good with a peep, but better with a scope, but a peep works just fine for my 60+ yr old shootin eye, target below was shot at 200yds with the 45-120 BC using a Williams FP-TK, I adjusted the sight after the first shot which is the high one, used a 6'Oclock hold using the fine Lee Shaver post for the Lyman 17A front sight.  ;)

How's the recoil on that .45-120, Tim?  I've kinda been thinking along those lines, but everybody tells me the recoil would be terrible.  I've already got the butt full of lead shot, and a mercury recoil reducer isn't out of the question.

Track of the Wolf also has a good selection of sights suitable for the BC.  I bought one of their Italian mid-range vernier rear sights for mine.

Tolerable at ~10lbs with a Galco slip on and me wearing a Past Magnum shoulder pad, there are several members here with 45-120s, most all shoot smokeless powder in them, myself included, to keep this thread on topic, please do a search on the 45-120, lots of posts.  ;)

Regarding peep sights, a lot of guys not used to them try to use an aperture too small. You want enough light coming in so the eye can 'center to the light'. For hunting removing the aperture and looking thru the 'ghost ring' often works great. Also, for me, shooting with both eyes open with peeps works better.
