what is a carbine?

I need help learning what makes a firearm a carbine rifle. I was interested in purchasing a Keltec- sub2000 fire arm and i was wondering if i could carry it in my truck. also anybody know any info about Hi-cap magazines in the state of texas, where can you go with them and where cant you go.

The Kel-tec sub 2000 is a carbine which uses pistol cartridges. Here is a link to there site if you want to know more about them:

roughly 16" to 21" with a rifle stock is my understanding, BELOW 16" BBL WITH A RIFLE STOCK IS ILLEGAL IN MODERN CONSTRUCTION, over about 24 is commonly a rifle, R
