Thanks for all the info-got my 1911
« on: April 21, 2010, 04:37:24 AM »
Just wanted to thank the posters here for all the info. Got in my mind I need a 1911, and lurked around this winter reading all the info I could.  Was raised on revolvers and have been playing with a Ruger P90 the last few years. Was out looking around and got a good deal on a Kimber Cusotm II. I know it's early in the game but this pistol is some serious fun. Ran a couple hundred 230 fmj through it without a problem. Yesterday ran several mags of 200 gr swc and tc without a hiccup. I am by no means a sharpshooter but am in the black at 25 yds. There ought to be a warning before you join this board. First handi rifles, now this. The lesson is just beginning. Have a good one.
The more I know, the less I know.

Excellent! Welcome. I got my intro to the 45 ACP the same way you have. I got a Ruger P90 a few years ago which lead to my Rock Island Armory M1911A1. Great way to unload 45 cases! I mostly shoot handloads with cast 225 gr RN bullets and W231. Enjoy...

Bwahahaha!  Welcome Aboard.

"The lesson is just beginning."  This lesson never ends.  It is a life-long infliction.  It's a ball.  You'll love it.

Kimber makes a real nice 45.  I have shot quite a few of their models and they come from the factory basically ready to play.  Most of the add on touches have been done....... the only thing you need to do is shoot it!  Best of luck with it.
