I just acquired a new to me .223 caliber, Ruger #3 with Ruger #1 wood that I would like to scope. I have wanted one of these for more than 40 years but I will probably not shoot it a lot therefore I am not looking to put a high dollar Leupold on her. It will be used for an occasional 50 yard and 100 yard target shoot at the range. It will not be a hunting gun as I am not a hunter. It is a beautiful rifle that will be polished more than fired
I would like to maintain a flow profile on the scope but the Leupold VX-I 2-7X28 Rimfire scope that I have available does not have long enough eye relief. It is about 1 - 1.5 " too short for comfortable offhand shooting.
In looking through current scopes I find that the Burris Timberline 3-9X32 has eye relief (3.75" - 5.0") that appears adequate. Is this an OKAY scope?
