Need some accuracy help please

I have an Encore in .300 win, 22-250, and 50x209. I am having problem with all three. It seems that ever since I put the Bellm oversized hinge pins in the barrels will no longer shoot good. The groups walk all over the place especially after the first couple of shots. My 22-250 groups no better than 3"at 100 yards with massive verticle stringing. The other two will put two rounds close together then one 5" out.  I have been shooting benchrest a long time and dont expect that kind of accuracy but I do want to hunt with this rifle and not be afraid of a 100 yard shot. I reload and have tried all bullets relative to barrel twist.

Well, if it shoots worse after the modification, especially if it's doing it in all three barrels, then go back to the original hinge pin.

I cant go back to the original because I had to ream out the hole to square it up and fit the Number 3 pin. Should I make it looser? My fore end is free floated.

I would use some emery cloth and take a few about .0005 of the pin and try it. Worse case is that you didnt get the holes reamed in line with each other. Fixing that could take a good tool maker and some good equipment. You would need an even bigger pin and your TC will have lost its ability to switch barrels unless you have them all jig bored to fit the new pin. This is one reason I don't buy used barrels unless I know they havn't been "reamed out " for a different pin. Tightning the hinge pin has never helped my accuracy and in most casses it hurt.   KN
