Could not be more proud of my home state and Govenor. In the span of two weeks, Jan Brewer signs CCW bill and Senate Bill 1070, the criminalizatioin of illegal aliens. 70% of the population support it. The illegal alien apologists now are now predicting the end of the world, just like liberals all do. the apologists are now saying now will will have racial profiling and all the things that go with it. Got to admire this Govenor.Sure beats Janet Napolitano.

If things are ever to return to normalcy in this country, it will be the States that lead us in that direction......Not the Federal Gov.

I sure hope this stands, I really do. The pessimist in me can't help but think it will get thrown out some how.

Somewhere it has been decided the U.S. will be turned into a third world country of haves and have nots. Those making those decisions are used to getting their way.

I'm proud of Arizona. I'm afraid that the one of the groups planning a lawsuit will find a friendly (read Liberal) judge and it will get thrown out though.

Next door to you we seem to be still issuing driver's licenses to illegals. I thought the practice had been stopped but one of the candidates for governor is stating she will stop it if elected.

My son, who was born in this county, moved back earlier this year and went down to get his driver's license changed to New Mexico. His Texas driver's license didn't count for anything. Wanted a copy of his birth certificate. When presented that was not enough. Needed a witness to sign a statement that he lived where he said he did. His mother went with him and signed the statement in front of the clerk. That didn't do it either. Had to get a signed statement from his bank that he did business with them at that address. Finally got his license and the number on it was exactly the same number on the license he had when he moved away several years ago.

Couldn't they have just accessed the database in Santa Fe and retrieved his old information? It took two days of running around and standing in line to get this done. While waiting in line during this mess he witnessed people who spoke no English come in with someone to interpret for them sign their paperwork, be issued their license and leave.

It was long due and time will see if Kalifornia will look to a law like this to help revive their states economy by exiting the thousands if not millions that reside in that state loving the welfare .

I cant help but think that removing a million+ illigals off the welfare tit would help them in the now and future.

Do any of you seriously believe that the U.S. government, and the news media is gonna give Arizona a free pass on this? It's already starting, and Obama is already condemning and demonizing the state's move. They will have half the world against them, and when it comes right down to it, the rest of the U.S. will be nothing more than cheer leaders with no actual physical support at all. They will crucify the governor and anyone whom speaks out for, and in support of her. Just watch the news. Oklahoma did this a few years ago, but the feds will wear them down.
McCain, the guy most of ya'll wanted to be president, will fly into his own state's new law, and will do everything he can to overturn it also.

I would be realy happy if we got back to states rights ....AZ has a right to do what they want,,To much power an the fedral leavel will bring us all down ... Let other states that want no ID checks do it ...

Years ago working in a meat packing plant was a good paying job - and you retired well...In the 1970's it started to change -- wages went down to where it was no longer a good paying job ----So did the meat prices get more afordable with the low labor cost?

Illegal low cost labor is not good for the USA or any other country...I thimk mexican people need to deal with there corupt goverment and demand a fair wage in there country -- I would suport mexicans roiting in there streets and demanding fair pay!

What Arizona has done, will either spread, or Arizona will fold, or be made an example of by the feds. I truly hope that she doesn't fold, and I will lend my support, as it is the only positive move toward this illegal problem since Oklahoma made it illegal to house, transport, or employ illegals. There was a mass exit from that state in one week. Tulsa lost something like 15,000 in one week. If the rest of the states would follow Oklahoma and Arizona, then states rights would have a chance against the goons of Washington.

Maybe that old jailer down AZ. way should take up protecting the border he seems to have one way . THE RIGHT WAY.
Lets hope the laws hold , lets hope the people support it and those brave enough to pass them . The American public has the chance to be heard in nov. I hope we put away petty differences and send all the politicans that have turned their back on the laws of our land packing .

It would be nice if they would but, I have lost a lot of faith in the American voter over the years. In the mean time, Arizona is catching hell on the news media and suits have already been filed.
