"According to the trusty BR scale it still weighs 7.6#. That's with a Sightron SII 2.5-9 X 33 scope, Weaver rings, and Butler Creek scope caps. The laminated stocks were a bit heavier. That's why I traded them off for another synthetic set for my other Handi....
....Mine's at 16 1/4". Putting the synthetic stocks on made a huge difference, not so much in overall weight but put the balance back towards the front, which helps the overall handling. I do my own crowning with the Brownell's hand crowning tools. Best hundred bucks I ever spent."
The rifle cut so short was very compact, of course, but with the laminated stocks was very butt heavy. Putting on the synthetics made a huge difference.
