My wife has been going through breast cancer, surgery now healing and chemo soon, and I have been being nurse, chief cook and bottle washer and house cleaner etc. for the past couple of months. This morning my wife said that I needed to have a ME day. She said that she saw in the paper that a gun show would be in the town next to us why did I not go. So I took off. It was the average show for around here. Half the building was knives, flashlights, and NASCAR stuff and the other half was way over priced guns. I did see the only T/C Contender in the place. It had factory wood and a 45/410 barrel with adjustable sights barrel on it priced at $498.00 before tax and $10.00 NICS. I have the exact barrel already. I ask the guy if he would just sale the frame. After 30 minutes of BS and dickering I walked out the door with it for $315.00 . It looks almost new. It has not been shot much if any. It is a 1985 frame just like I wanted. I stopped at a buddies on the way home that has a box full of right hand grips (he is left handed) and picked me out one for FREE

. I wanted to put a custom made barrel, that I don't know who made, 14" in 6mm-225 Win on this frame because I had my new MGM 14" SS 30-30AI barrel on my only frame that I got with this barrel as a whole gun. The barrel would not lock up every time and then it would not fire when it did. I then put the 30-30AI barrel on it and it worked perfectly. I swapped the Pachmayr grip off the frame that the 6mm-225 barrel fit and put it on the new frame with the 30-30AI barrel. I adjusted the trigger and actually got a crisp light trigger. Now I have two Contenders ready to shoot. Now if I can find time to go shoot between work and doctor visits etc.
