Yep, there's a lot of luck involved in the barrel buyers market. It took me several months to get a .243 barrel, it felt like winning the lottery, well almost. For what it's worth, my actual cost for a new factory fitted barrel is about $160, depending on what you get. That's a standard contour price. Not that different than a used barrel price. Thing is getting the rare or discontinued calibers. And of course the down time.
