Does anyone know when TC changed from the cat on the rock to just a cat head on the frames?

That logo was only used on the stainless steel frames.

Naw, it's on blue frames too. I don't know the date, but the change came towards the end of the original easy open frames (pre G2). I have one (blue), and always thought it looked a little cartoonish. Just MHU
Thanx Barry, but I'll keep my guns, money and freedom, you can keep the "change".

I've seen a few with the cat head while browsing gunbroker and a few other sites but haven't been able to get a serial number so as to be able to look up the manufacture date. Was just courious as to when they started using it.

I can't give you the exact serial number/date when they changed on the blue frames (I might have it in my TC records in storage, not sure), but I can narrow it down for you based simply on current frames I have.   They went from the cast full body cougar somewhere between a mid 1996 blue frame I have (441XXX) to the etched cougar head only by a fall 1997 blue frame I also have (447XXX).

Note:  The stainless frames had the new head only etching starting in 1993, but not the blue frames until during the above time period.

The stainless frames were made from 1993 to 2000 and all have the cougar head etched side plates.

Armor Alloy frames were from mid 1985 to mid 1989 all had the cast full body cougar side plates.

Thanks Larry, that gives me a pretty good timeline.
