45 120 Project

Changed my mine and am going ahead with the 45 120 project.  Have a NIB BC 45 70 headed my way and just made a deal for some new 45 120 brass.  Next call is to 4D.  Think I'll wait and get this project finished before bugging you gentlemen for smokeless load data.   Cutoff one handi barrel and then you think you can do anything. :D

Pete,

I've got a large stainless screw (bolt) in my non-shooting shoulder.  Maybe I should have my sawbone check the torque on it before I shoot the 45 120? :P  If I whimp out on the recoil and I always load with Trail Boss. ;D

Sounds like a couple tons of fun to me. Just the same my 45-70 will remain untouched for now. It will loosen my diaper as it is. This all reminds me of the old one about the mountain climber question, "Because it's there." Works for me.

I have used them both, 4d reamer and most recently Elk Ridge.  I used Elk ridge because they have a price for shipping and return shipping with all of the shipping supplies included - $14 , on top of the price for the reamer you choose.  That sealed the deal for me.
