My son and I both shoot 25-06 for mule deer and elk. I have a Stevens 200, he has a Remington 700 ADL. Hornady 120 gr HPs work great in both rifles with H 4831 powder, R-P brass and Win WLR primers.
ive recently changed my mind on that bullet. Ive shot it quite a bit in the 257 weatherby and 2506 and have had decent luck with it. It is a very very accurate bullet. Probably one of the most accurate 25 cal bullets ive shot. this year doing crop damage shooting i was using it in the weatherby and had to instances where the bullet pensiled through a deer and didnt apear to expand at all. Both shots were under 200 yards and at weatherby velocity it should have been more of a consern that they didnt over expand then what we experienced. Ive got a couple boxes of them left that i guess i just use to shoot coyotes as i doubt i will trust that bullet again on deer.
