Huntsman/Sidekick & BH209
« on: April 30, 2010, 08:44:22 AM »
Hi All,

Anybody shooting the BH209 in the Huntsman/Sidekicks.  If so, please share your experiences with me and pics of targets would be great also.  I am thinking of getting one of these guns but don't want to stop using the BH209.

thanks

BB

Your best bet is to search here for "Busta" posts he has spent a considerable amount of time testing BH and as far as I am concearned he is the resident Guru with the Blackhorn. He has posted many great photo's and range reports on his BH testing. Kurt

BB,

I have shot cases of BH209, at least 1 case through the Huntsman and Sidekick. Don't even waste your time trying to shoot it with the orange primer carriers. They do not seal the breech, and you need a sealed breech for reliable ignition. If you read some BH209 posts, you will figure out how it is done. ;)

Busta,

I searched and found your old posts and read them.  I got the current info. on ordering the breech plug, now I got to find the barrel or complete gun.  I have gotten 2 containers of BH 209 from friends who bought it for MZs that do not have sealed breech plugs.   The powder works great in my Rossi MZ, I just don't like that gun all that much.  The Rossi makes me a little nervous closing it because it is  headspacing of the 209 primer and it doesn't have an "o" ring.  I think it is actually compressing the primer just a tad.  It has never went off when I close it but....   I guess it is okay since it doesn't have much blowby.

thanks
