looking good Owen....I had to go look---Round shot and Rammers, clad to see some one using that book to build.  Lots of good plans to build from in there....keep us updated in your progress.

You know I haven't looked at a copy of that in ages no wonder I didn't recognize the print ...... I'm getting old........

I like your Gribeauval GB mortar, Ive got its little brother (1" bore) in brass.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Owen,

Google grinding balls and find suppliers in Australia.  You need 42.8 mm for golf ball size.  A 42 or 43mm should work as long as you have windage in your bore.
