They all look like pretty nice pistols.

I'm of the kind that would combine the money of those four into one all-out custom, but that is just my personal flavor.

Here's what I think:  I think I would like a pair of plain janes, ambi safeties, beavertail grip safeties, flat mainspring housings, triggers worked, ejection ports flared, good square sights, 'no-drag' edges; and as long as you make'm one fer each hand I'll be happy..................

Geez....Mikey your thinking my thoughts about a left hand and right hand handguns.  Since i inherted my brothers brand new ruger redhawk in 44mag its an exact twin to my redhawk and i been pondering picking up a left hand and right hand shoulder holsters and putting then together to carry two 44mags.

Or even a  decent production pistol with all the little niceties Mikey mentioned, and a good supply of reloading components with the change.

Yeah, that could work too.  There are quite a few production pieces that I'd love to be able to spring for.

I like the idea of a matching pair. One for each hand.

I have the 6" Springfield. Much less muzzle flip and recoil then a standard. It also meets the Wisconsin barrel length requirement for deer hunting, the reason I bought it.

Now this is a silly reply---I will do it anyway.
How about putting one on each fender of the car and have them pass/cross at 50 yards?

William were not old enough to remember the center headlite that turned left and right with the steering wheel of course were way to young to remember that. Having two 1911's mounted on the fenders that would do that would be neat?

My list of wants and gotta haves too a big hit latey.  I changed my mind and the path I want to go too.

My new bucket list;

1. Ruger SR1911 5'' 45acp in stainless  (price wise it beats the SA and Thompson 1911 in stainless)
2. Rock Iland Armory 45acp / 1911 5'' in nickel finish
3. Colt Delta Elite in 10mm in stainless 5''.
4. Rock Iland Armory 38 super / 1911 5'' in nickel.

William;   I know what your saying.  I thought my norinco m14 was untouched and still new and shot very little.  But i found out the latter that it has a USGI trigger group in it and who knows what else has been done to it or reworked.  While i purchased most of the 308win and 7,62 nato headspace gauges to see and know exactly where its at she is on the low side of 1.637".  She's a shooter for sure and safe too.  For a deal under $400 with some free trade ins i had i did ok.  But your right too with any used gun who knows whats been reworked in it?  I figure the first thing they or most would touch is the ramp so it feeds JHP's in any auto. I have seen some bubba ramp jobs too but its nothing we can fix or repair. But i would rather stay away from those.

Right now i'm thinking about a brand new ruger SR1911 45acp in stainless with all the goodies it comes with.  Maybe next month.  Heck soon we'll have christmas shopping to do.  But my for me to me birthday present is the ruger sr1911 in sept.

I found a new remington but im not sure if there any good or not.  My wallet still feels the space from the two bad colts in the 70's and the 80's. Since i have 4 up and running perfect 1911's right now i'm still gun shy too because i still think there is a bad one lurking out there waiting for me to buy it. Which ones do i trust and which ones to stay away from?

hmmm....10mm thanks now i'm on the fence again on what i want.  45acp, 38 super, 9x23 or 10mm.....  I had to go and shoot the 9mm largo and i liked the 9mm with a tad mo power. Plus the bigger 1911 clone llama extra handles it well too. One of my GS has an indoor range were we can rent guns to shoot and try out.  I may do that for the first time in my life.  I never met a gun i didn't like but i'm not sure which one to purchase first.  CZY

I'm rethinking again as to whats been said here why buy the same 1911 in 45acp over and over but different brands.  I wanted to collect a few different brands to see if there good or not.  But now i have the knowledge on how to fix them so it really doesn't matter now.

Its been suggested to purchase one good one, but really which more expensive one will be any better than the 4 i have now?  My norc spits out the 45acp round like no other plus its accurate too.  My two SA's and one AO are great reliable shooters with no jamming or stove piping out of my 1990 series 90 SA since i retuned the extractor.  My 1911's are running so good i'd walk into hell with any one of them.

So whats my next move.........I want a 1911 in stainless finish and one in nickel finish. The colt gov in nickel was unmatched in its day but its discontinued.
