Savage 389
« on: May 02, 2010, 11:56:19 PM »
Digging around to learn more about combination guns sold here in America I've recently come across a web reference to the Savage 389 (only available in 12 ga 3" w/ screw in chokes over a .222 or .308. with double triggers)

The Savage (ie. Valmet) 2400 is widely referred to on this and other forums, but I've found very little mention of the Savage (ie. Valmet) 389 anywhere on the internet.

I gather that the 2400s were made from 1975 to 1980, but the 389 was only made from 1988 to 1990.

Are the 2400 and 389 the same; or is the 389 a re-badged Valmet 412?

Many thanks for any information supplied.

Best regards,

Steve
