I think its kinda funny how some folks get so mad about how a company runs its operation, and how the evil executives make so much and run the companies into the ground etc etc.
The thing is, the company has to first...make a product people want and or need. then they have to be able to make a profit doing so while keeping it affordable to those that want or need it. pretty simple.
How the profits get divided is determined by that companies owner, or board of directors. They also determine how it should be run, and Ill bet that none, of them want the company to go under or be unprofitable, so they do what they can to make sure it is. If that means moving to a more profitable state, then thats what they do.
remember that as well as a big check, these folks also have stock options, and they want to keep it worth alot!
I suggest if its that big of an issue, and you feel that strongly about how HD is being run, go buy some stock, and go vote in the next shareholders meeting.
Now some of these same people, that complain about the evil employers whom are making huge wages, also pay union dues, and I dont really recall anybody complaining how much the union bosses make, or how much the union lobbyists make or spend taking politicians out to fancy dinners on their dime. Just the ceos, and their big fancy jets, expense accounts etc.
Someone mentioned earlier that a ceo didnt even have his license before he started there, well I wonder if the union boss has ever turned a wrench on a bike before? or woked the assembly line etc etc. How many have actually run a business, and how many do you think would be union shops?
The bottom line is money, If they can make moredoing it a different way, then thats what has to be done.
