i am sick and tired of the democrats that are "retiring". it is nothing but a way to avoid letting the people fire them this fall, which they know is coming. what a bunch of spineless sacks of trash.

I doubt their intentions are as honorable as avoiding being fired at the polls.

I think these guys with bad numbers backing out is simply a ploy to allow "untainted" Democrats to run. I think they feel this will increase their odds of retaining more seats in the House and Senate come November.

I'm not so sure either one of you are right. I am more leaning toward the possibility that they know what they have done, and it is gonna bring the whole economic enchilada down, and they don't want to be there to share in the blame when that happens.

Who knows? Myron or Cowpox could be right. I just don't recall it ever happening like this, and I'm 60 years old. Course when Bush started handin out checks and tellin every body to spend them, I had never seen that before either. I felt that very unusual, and a few years later, here we are.

I think you are all right. I also bet that many will show up working in federal agencies in a nice cushy job, with paid insurance and another pension. They are experts at recycling trash.

Anytime a Dumocrat leaves office it's a good thing. It is especially good if another Dumocrat doesn't take their place. I think some of these guys and gals are leaving with the idea of taking as much plunder with them as they can. Still others have probably sold their votes for a job in the obamanation.

I know what I'ld like to see. Get rid of the old guard,completely. Then, if we are smart enough to vote in the right people, all the benifits for retired politicians would be cut. Tell them, just like the retirement plan at a failed company. Sorry, you spent so much, not enough revenue coming in, you don't get a dime. If you paid into social security, you get your $1200 a month. No medical, no security guards, no paid trips by the govt. Go back to work in the private security. Wonder how much that would save in tax's? gypsyman

Some may be jumping ship others getting out the way , Dee may be correct for the most or all. Question is how many have moved their wealth off shore ? which ones own homes off shore ? Which of the ones staying have done these two things ? Getting out is a plane ride to a safe place.

BBF, for what its worth, I was talking to a broker in NYC today and he told me one of his major Dem clients was going long on the Canadian dollar. He feels that it's the place to be. The Dems know whats going down in the US.
The Hermit may have to row across the swamp again when the buck goes belly up.

That expression going long on a $ doesn't mean anything to me not being in the financial business

If it means he is stacking up on CAN $, I dunno. Both currencies are so linked that a collapse of US$ will doom the the Loonie as well.
