Well, I got my new TM out this morning. Did I mention that the thing is tight?
Well, it is.
I loaded my first magazine with Hornady Jacketed SWC 200 Gr bullet in front of a little ww 231 (don't remember exact charge, it's written down in the garage).
It ran that clip like a champ, and it was scary accurate (man o man)
So, I loaded the next mag with my standard lead bullet load, a Lee 228 452 pushed by 4.7 ww 231.
Did I mention that this gun it tight? Well, so is that chamber. I got a FTF jam with the casing jammed tightly into that match chamber, really tightly, to the point that I had to push the slide back by using the side of a wooden table.
So back to the Hornadys I went. They loaded and shot great. The only FTF was when the mag didn't seat all the way, so operator error on that one.
I ran 100 rounds through it, then tried the 228 bullet again. The 228 jammed again (match chambers are tight. Did I mention that this thing is tight?)
Well, except for operator related issues, I am VERY pleased. It is truly a one hole tack driver. Nothing wiggles.
One other quick note, the trigger was very good NIB. After about 100 rounds, it is very, very good, real close to downright excellent now, and this is coming from a guy whose standard is the Jewell BR for match benchrest rifles.
I'll post some pics and write a little more later, after I get a chance to work on my handloads.
NICE pistol. Good job Springfield.
