Anyone shooting Aquila Super Maximum ammo?
« on: May 08, 2010, 07:30:49 AM »
Ok guys.
I am looking to trade off my old Remington 514, I am really looking at a Sportster and would like to find out some info. I have been shooting http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=411935&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=free&utm_campaign=653Aquila Super Maximum out of my old Spingfield.
Just wandering if anybody else is shooting these and how they are doing in their sprotsters.
Thanks
Dale.

They shot very well in my Sagage MkII but I never shot them in a NEF. They are fast, almost as fast as a 22Mag with some loads. Pick up a box and see how they do for you. You will notice they are hotter than Stingers and much louder then standard loads..especially in a 22 pistol!

I was thinking about getting a sportster for my kid for when he gets older. I ended up trading a Remington 514 for a Savage 72 Crackshot in mint condition. I have shot the Super max's in my Springfield and the shoot perfect MOA at 100yds. As far as loud yea they are I have a H&R 929 with a 2 inch barrel that I am thinking about shooting in.

The "Hyper Vel" shoots best in my model 62 Puma and they are very accurate in a couple of other .22's as well. I've check the speed over my "Pact" and they vary from a low of 1615 to a high 1685fps (so much for "standard deviation" being an indication of accuracy ::)). The "Stingers" I've shot are not as fast, and the only gun that shoots them "half way" accurate is my 35 year old Kimber.

i guess your puma and kimber are not autoloaders....
thats the breaking point... slamming the bolt back onto the buffer system
is what i'm talk'n bout... in a marlin. others i don't hava clue
marlin auto's are not intended to fire hyper-velocity ammo
they warn you of that in the owners manual...
