I decided on an Ed Brown Vedeki style National Match trigger from Midway. I was a little apprehensive about assembly and reassembly of the lower frame, but with the information on the web, it turned out to be OK. I am no gunsmith, and I am actually rather proud that I did it! The trigger was no drop in though. It required carefull filing of the upper and lower of the trigger until it slid into the trigger channel. A final polish of all surfaces then reassembly. What a difference! I see no further additions or modifications to the mil-spec. It is dependible and combat accurate and never jamed. I don't get hammer bite, the three dot sights are adequet, it's not a target pistol, but accuracy is adequeate for it's intended purpose, etc etc. The trigger originally was just too short. The alumininum trigger above that I installed is pleasing to the eye, contrasting the stainless barrel bushing. Looks great on a parkerized pistol. Springfield Armory gets two thumbs up from me. The stainless Target model I have also is a keeper.
So if you are apprehensive on doing something like this, just do it. If I can do it, so can you!
