I have a weakness for Ruger SS DA revolvers and own several of them. And yet 4 years ago I went spastic sold my GP-100 and have been kicking myself ever since. I had no choice this weekend at the guns store. They had a new 4" on sale, my resitence was down and well . . . you know the rest. Yes, I took a beating of about $125 but I don't care. The world is now a better place, birds are singing and flowers are blooming. I had to tell someone cause I haven't quite figured how to share my good news with my better half. Does anyone else have this sickness or am I all alone out here?

I've only bought a few guns on purpose. I have a list of guns I want rattling around my head. When I come across one it seems to go home with me. Me and the Warden tend to disagree over this plan. She just doesn't understand the savings of purchasing a gently used firearm.

Scibaer, I am genuinely touched by your offer. Considering we hardly know each other, you are to be commended for your willingness to jump in and help me out of this mess. Go out to your mailbox and wait for it. It should be there shortly. Seriously, you are right about ripping me a new one cause in our present financial position it wasn't the most prudent thing I have ever done. But I'm glad I've got it.

I guess I am lucky as my better half never complains when I come home with something new. At most she will suggest I sell something next time as she has a hard time cleaning my gun room and safe when she dusts.

i was just having a bit of fun with ya. i know exactly how it is, when the wife puts a damper on what seems a good idea at the time

my wife keeps asking me, if i have enough guns now.. i just can bring myself to saying yes. then i end up with some new gun, she get all bent out of shape.

no i do not think you are alone on this. i think that most of us that have the sugnifficant other go thru just about the same thing. i got it real bad, i do not think anyone can have to many guns. as they are like money in the bank.you can always sell one in a pinch. lol

Last summer my son bought an 83 short wide chevy then we found a 383 stroker motor with a roller system in it and bought it. The more I thought about it the more I realized that motor was for me not him, he is 13 and should have made him save his money. Anyway I sold that motor and he used the money to buy a rebuilt 350 and a th350 tranny. I explained to his mother what a great deal this was and I would only have to pitch in $100 to help buy the motor. What she does not know and does not need to know is that I had to buy a new battery, starter, etc., etc. also. After I tag and insure it where I can drive it until he is 16

it will probably cost me about $600. I will let him drive me around in the mountains some. Different but kind of the same.

Experienced your emotions many times. No, your not alone just ask anyone who has ever sold a treasured handgun. It's called sellers remorse and actually you've stumbled upon the only cure there is(that I know of) for this? It's not that there are so many handguns in America but, that any real gun owner feels this way when they sell any of their hoard and then must replace them. Try blaming it on your better half because most times they instigate the alleged sale for the purchase of frivilous things like curtains or such, for their promise of sexual pleasure or continued hot meals(all male weakness's). hehehe

a good ol I LOVE YOU HUNNY used to work for me........... some times

i have gotten 3 new guns in the last 2 months and 2 scopes
the love you hunnys are getten over used and less affective. im looking for a new one, the ol lady is now counting my guns so i hide some of the old ones and replace them with news ones but she finds them.i need to hide them better or i think i might have to get professinal help to over come me illness............guns,guns and more guns
marlin,remington,ruger,savage,h&r,mossberg do not offer such a program. so i could be in some trouble with this!
i even got her a 6" ruger .22 mark II pistol. she asked so what did you get, so i showed her a 10" .22 ruger mark II in s.s. the 6" is blued

a his and hers. i got a why is yours bigger

(its a guy thing)
maybe if i go to a figure out women class that will help.

I asked my better half why she never gets angry about my addiction to firearms and she finally admitted she does get mad. She just handles her anger differently than I do. I scream and yell, She just goes in a cleans the toilet. Of course she does so with my toothbrush.

The GP100s are great revolvers - just wish they still made the 4" short barrel shroud/underlug. My pal has the fixed sight short shroud version - can't pry it out of his hand with a crowbar!!

Congratulations on the Ruger. Over many decades I have devised numerous schemes to aquire new guns, fly rods, camera lenses, etc. some of them have been very creative. One or two actually worked. To my surprise I was bemoaning the fact that a cousin had backed out of a trade I had worked hard on to wrestle a 38 Special revolver from her and my wife simply said just go buy a new one they can't be that expensive. Well, that actually made it too easy and I didn't 'pull the trigger'. Instead, I brought home an Orange Belton English Setter. He's a 2-year old male field dog from a rescue organization here in Central Florida. He has had a rough life but is bonding with my wife and me now. In another week we will begin obedience training and after that field training. The good news is my wife has fallen in love with the dog. The bad news is he will cost me a whole lot more over the years than the revolver would have...but I have a new best friend.

I got very lucky with a pawn shop find, actually my teen son found it, several years ago and the wife was mad for years, but after she calmed down I started searching my $160 find on gun auction sites and the average selling price was $900. I showed that to her and asked how her IRA was doing, she hasn't complained about a gun buy since.

When you wake up, pat her on the bottom and ask her what she wants sex or you too play golf? She will tell you where your golf shoes are.

That is a strategy that has worked before but she's so attached to her 3" SP101 that I won't be able to get away with it this time. It will stay in the safe except for the times I go to the range alone.
