I've been riding 30 years. I won't bore anyone with the details unless asked, but I have had some spectacularly unprofessional interactions (like 5 or 6) with LEO's and it was ALWAYS when I was on a motorcycle except for once in a car. One time the officer (MN Hwy patrol) was so out of line, I swear if that guy hadn't had the car and the uniform and all the trappings I would never have thought he was a real cop, it was that out of line. Kinda scared me and made me rue how my Tax Dollars Were At Work, let me tell you...
I have two friends that I don't see that much that are cops but I have no idea what gets 'em going about bikes. Relating my experiences, they've both been obviously uncomfortable and evasive hearing about it. I said 'well you shoulda been there, I doubt you would have liked it'...
Bear in mind I am plenty coginzant of the fact at least 3 of those times I was speeding or such and 'had it coming' to a degree but...
It has been my experience that the younger cops are a little better in this regard, my theory is they psyc screen them better than they used to due to municipality liability issues. Good.
