New mosque to be dedicated...
« on: May 14, 2010, 01:10:47 PM »
  The Islamic jihadists blew a hole in the heart of NYC on 9/11/01 snuffing out thousands of innocent lives in the process. I believe we can all recall the videos taken on days following the mass murder. The visions of the "Arab street" celebrating with great jubilation should never be forgotten.
  Apparently it was forgotten some time ago by the planning board for the financial district of NYC...since they have granted permission for a mosque to be built which will tower over "ground zero". Each time another suicide bombing is pulled off by jihadists somewhere in the world, we are all lectured by liberals, progressives and Muslims that we should be very careful not to take offense at all Muslims and at all times to be "sensitive".
   Well, how's this for "sensitive" ? They not only are building a mosque overlooking the  scene of mass destruction, they plan on dedicating it on 9/11/11 the 10th anniversary of the great mass murder.

   We have a leadership in Washington DC who condemn the citizens of Arizona for protecting their home state, a leadership who is doiung their best  to estrange Israel from the US, encourages the courts-martial of heroic Navy SEALs and says naught when students in a CXalifornia high school, are punished for displaying the American flag among a sea of Mexican flags...IN CALIFORNIA !!
  Do you sometimes wonder, as I do..

  Just whose side is the Chicago mob in Washington on?

Why don't we look at this more realistically. WHOM SOLD THEM THE LAND? WHOM GAVE THEM THE BUILDING PERMITS? This isn't a Washington call. It's a New York City call. Can you imagine how much a building lot in downtown New York costs? That it is a statement by the Muslim, there is no doubt. But it seems to me the NEW YORKER, should be mad at the seller, and the permits issuer.

bigMike, I am sure if someone had offered them more money they would have sold the lot to someone else. The Hindus perhaps? What about the CITIZENS OF NEW YORK? Where are they? Why aren't THEY in the streets protesting this? THEY are the ones whom suffered the greatest loss. It is hard to feel sorry for someone whom doesn't seem all that insulted. Haven't seen ANY protests from NEW YORKERS. What's up with that?

 How nice. Our very own Dome of the Rock. What lovely symbolism.

 Check out the credentials of the head imam in charge of the project...

I'd be willing to bet the people of New York knew nothing of this deal until it happened.

Maybe someone thinks that the presence of a mosque might ward off any muslim attacks on the new buildings that go up to take the place of the towers.  It would still be like sticking a thumb in the eye of most New Yorkers and a lot of non-New Yorkers.  It is a not too subtle statement that wreaks of "we won."

 Dee;
    While I am sure there are denizens of that warren called New York City who are not happy with what the planning commission has done, still one has to understand that city. it is somewhat of a San FRANCISCO EAST. They pride themselves on being "open minded"...so open minded that their brains fell out long ago. That place is an entity unto itself, with many there believing it to be the navel or heart of the world. Others, living in the rest of NY State often would give it a quite different anatomical title.
   I live in a rural part of NY State(and a surprise to many, most of it is rural) about as far from NYC as is Richmond, VA or Morgantown, WV.
         That town should be considered more to be part of the east coast megalopolis, stretching from Washington, DC to Boston, MA. Some research group has estimated that something like 70% of the population lives within 50 miles of the seacoasts. Those folks are a "different breed of cat". Starting 50-50 miles westy of NYC, people are much closer in character to midwesterners.
  Why would not someone living in the "grape belt" on the shores of Lake Erie, Ontario or the Finger Lakes not bother going to NYC to protest their foolish actions ? Ask me how much good I suppose it would do, for a rancher or dairy farmer in northern California to drive to San Francisco to parade and protest "Gay marriage" ?
     The east coast liberals and their left coast counterparts live in their own little world, which they consider to be THE WORLD. They look at the places where you, I and folks from Utah, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio and all other points between east and left coasts to be simply "flyover country".

     I am pleased that you should mention Bridget Gabrielle, referring to her as a "nutter. Here is a woman who is a former anchor person for a news network. A lady who has fled the oppression which the middle east has become. Surely we must decide between her and the Muslim women who you claim, are the driving force behind the 9/11 mosque...and decide just who the "nutters" are.
  I would rather present her in an interview, so each here can decide as to her nutter status;

ironglow, I am aware of the geography of New York State, having been there numerous times, and have been in the area in which you live. I was speaking STRICTLY of NEW YORK CITY folks. I view them much as you do, and it is THEY whom should be upset but, obviously are not. With that in mind, let them build A NEW MECCA there for all I care.
I have learned, that until AMERICA learns, the hard way, they will continue to "claim" the Constitution in bits and pieces, and "trade it" in bits and pieces, all the while swearing to be patriotic. When they have traded the last vestigaes of freedom away a little at a time, with "their lessor of theology" then and only then, will "their CHILDREN" realize, and pay the price for THEIR forefathers.
Lot was an important man in Sodom and in Gomorrah, but recognized that it was time to depart from their theology, and give up what he had there, and he gave it up, and walked away. In other words, he went against "popular opinion". I am not Lot, but I reject popular opinion on the lessor of thing, as it is why our country is where it is today.

   Thank you for understanding the nature of NY City vs NY State. Having travelled here, you can see the contrast, not only in the landscape but generally, in the people. When I was serving in the military or when I travelled and lived in other locales...I found it necessary to explain the situation quite often. I know that folks living in some west coast states have the same problem. Some folks for instance, view California as being ALL Los Angeles or San Fran...

I was down there when the airplanes hit the WTC. I still work in the same building about a block from the WTC. People who "disc" New Yorkers didn't see how people sacrificed that day to help his fellow New Yorker. That day was as bad as any day I spent in Vietnam and it amazed me the way people pitched togeather to help each other. As far as the mosque-who cares. Keep in mind there is a federal law which permits any religeous institution to build a religeous house anywhere it pleases.
http://www.rluipa.com
The law was orginally passed due to discrimination by one christian sect in blocking another from building a church.

As I said earlier on 1marty. They may claim it the "New Mecca". I am indifferent to it. If it pleases you, I am tickled to death. It means their not building it here. Don't be surprised though, when you fall under Sharia Law up there in NYC. But HEY! Religious freedom and Islam go hand in hand. When you were witnessing all that sacrifice, did you see any Muslims helping out?

+1 to that!
I can't stand them and 9/11 had nothing to do with that!
I have hated them since Beiruit. They were like animals
with no honor among them. They fight like cowards!
None of them can be trusted! And anyone who believes their
lies about islam being peaceful and tolerant should read the queer-an.
If I would have been younger, I would have went back this round
with them too! Would have been a PLEASURE to have got one for every Marine
they killed with that damned bomb. I better shut up now I guess.
