Mild Bill is back from Wild Hill
« on: May 15, 2010, 03:05:30 PM »
I just returned from Wild Hill Preserve in VT and what a great experience. It was my first booking with Bill Richter at Wild Hill and tagged out at the end of day one. I have never hunted Corsican Ram before and with the help of Bill and Eric (Bill's son) was able to tag out by late Friday afternoon. Of the 18 hunters in camp I was the only one hunting for ram with the rest of guys going for russian boar. Attached is a photo of my Corsican.

Wow, what a nice ram.  That is beautiful.  Are you going the full shoulder mount?  What rifle is that laying there in the pic?  It looks a little like my R-25.

markc- The rifle is a Browning A-Bolt Medallion 1984, .270 loaded with Winchester brass and Hornady 130g SST, 58 grain H4831SC. The shot was a quartering away slightly up hill at 100+ yds. I'm getting a shoulder mount, should have it in 6 months, just in time for NH deer season.

Mild Bill:

Thank you for sharing this photo.  The ram is magnificent and it sounds like the hunt was satisfying, too.

I've hunted boar at Tioga in Pennsylvania and red stag at Double D Ranch in southern Ohio. I had a much more challenging hunt at Double D.  But Vermont could be my next destination for fallow.

Hunting exotics is great FUN!
